Theban ScriptThe Theban script was popular in the Craft Community during the 60's and 70's. However some time in the 80" it was gradually replaced by Celtic and Germanic runes.
The Witches' Alphabet is used in modern Wicca and other forms of witchcraft as one of many substitution ciphers to hide magical writings such as the contents of a Book of Shadows from prying eyes.

The Germanic runic alphabet the rune Elder Futhark, was the common ancestor of all runes which followed. During the 300 years the Elder Futhark was in use, several of its runes changed in appearance.
