Esbats are Wiccan rituals, usually occurring on the full moon. They are regular meetings of witches and this is when work is done, such as full moon rites and new or dark moon rites, magic, healing, etc.
The Wolf Moon - January
It’s named for the wolf for two reasons. One, it takes place during the time of year when predator food supplies are scares, and brings wolves into towns in search of food. The other thing has to do with family and togetherness. Wolves live in packs, and like humans, keep the same families for life. They not only depend on their families for, wisdom, moral support and love, they depend on their families for their lives. Without them, many wolves simply cease to exist.
As the Wolf Moon rises high in the sky, pay attention to the lesson of the predator. You want to spend some quality time with blood relatives and extended family. You are who you are because of what they have given you. Thank them, show your appreciation and lend your support.
The Storm Moon - February
During the Storm Moon, it's the best time to do magick for strength and fertility and magick to help with life's challenges. The Storm Moon is also known as the Death or Quickening Moon. It's also a great time for mental and physical cleansing. This includes getting rid of items in your house that you don't need.
The Chaste Moon - March
The Chaste Moon waxes full when snow is still on the ground. It holds the power of purity, and innocence. This moon communicates with the child within us. It’s reminder of a time when life was simple, and everything imaginable seemed possible. Beneath the moon’s light, we will find answers to messy situations. Barriers loosen and give way, and our personal goals are suddenly possible. The Chaste Moon gives us the chance to throw out old and useless things. This moon is the signal to turn a page in our lives and start a new chapter.
The Seed Moon - April
The Seed Moon indicates the season for planting the seeds. It's time of fertility, growth, and wisdom. The Seed Moon is also known as the Egg, Grass, or Wind Moon. If you are going to plant a magickal garden, now would be the best time to do that. This is also the time to go from the planning stage to the action stage.
The Hare Moon - May
The Hare Moon is known as the Flower or Planting Moon. During the Hare Moon its a time of health, love, romance, and wisdom. Want to rekindled a romantic relationship, now would be a great time. Been working magick to help your career, during this time you should decide which of your job offers to accept, divination magick to help you make that decision.
The Honey Moon - June
The Honey Moon is also known as the Strawberry, Rose Moon and the Lover's Moon. It brings energy for love, marriage, and success. Its a time to nurture your garden.
The Mead Moon - July
The Mead Moon is a time of enchantment, health, rebirth, success, and strength. The first harvests are during this time. It's also a time of celebration and magick, mead is the nectar of the Gods. The Mead Moon is also known as the Blessings, Lightning, or Thunder Moon
The Barley Moon - August
The Barley Moon is also known as the Wort, Wyrt, Corn, or Red Moon. This is a time of abundance, agriculture, and marriage. You'll want to collect your magickal herbs and store them for the winter. Don't forget to give an offering to the Goddess for her generosity.
The Harvest Moon - September
The Harvest Moon is also known as the Hunter's Moon. This is a time of protection, prosperity, and abundance. The grains are being harvested during this time and it's a great time to do magick involving prosperity, abundance, and the nurturing of others. The energy of the Harvest Moon will help any magick that it's purpose to bring you or someone else abundance.
The Blood Moon - October
The Blood Moon is sometimes called the Falling Leaf. This is a Moon of new goals, protection, resolution, and spirituality. The best time for divination of any kind is the night of the Blood Moon. Nature is getting ready for the winter at this time of the year. Birds head south, Animals gathering food. Its the time to reflect on what you did during the year and your accomplishments.
The Snow Moon - November
The Snow Moon is also known as the Beaver, Mourning, or Tree Moon. It's a time to work with abundance, property, and the bonds of family and friendship.
The Oak Moon - December
The Oak Moon is also known as the Cold and the Long Night Moon The Oak Moon is a time for hope and healing. This time of year the Moon has reign over the Earth, there are more hours of night than day. It's time of rebirth of the light and the longer days after the winter solstice. It's time to let go of the negative.
